Exclusively providing for an expansive list of top auto brands and developing the industry’s most complete network of independently-owned dealerships means a leading Auto Manufacturer is always firing on all cylinders.
This auto leader needed an eCommerce solution that could handle the load already demanded as well as the growth to come.
Leading the provision of Aftermarket service solutions in North America, the Auto Manufacturer realized a need for the next step in eCommerce platform innovation. It was vital for the system to provide improvements around dealer discounting, catalog decoration, and internet search traffic, in addition to planning for future platform growth.
After evaluating eCommerce solutions able to handle iterative platform growth within a complex B2B2C auto industry, the company chose to implement a microservices-based solution with Broadleaf Commerce.
Modernizing the Auto Manufacturer’s IT stack started with re-platforming from an on-premise custom solution to Broadleaf’s Microservice-based Commerce stack running on Microsoft Azure. While the company manages the cloud infrastructure, Broadleaf manages the Commerce solution with ongoing monitoring, patching and uptime SLAs.
Replacing the core Commerce solution was just the start, and with Broadleaf, the company was able to iteratively add white label sites, enable multiple payment methods across hundreds of dealer locations, roll-out internationalization efforts in Canada and Mexico, and introduce additional customization custom store capabilities across their dealer network covering hundreds of locations
Migrating off a legacy platform onto Broadleaf Microservices in three months, the Auto Manufacturer allowed customers to buy online and pickup among hundreds of third party dealers. Within another three months after launch, the same dealers were offered white label solutions, followed by their ability to process Payment and Tax through their own organizations, all leveraging a single commerce platform.
“We were able to fully migrate from a legacy solution in three months, and in another three months add white label site capabilities.” Said Brad Buhl, CRO, at Broadleaf Commerce. “We are thrilled to have provided a Commerce platform able to meet their business vision.”
