Hundreds of millions of parts exist for the vast catalog of autos on the road today. O’Reilly strives to fit customers with the parts that put them in the best position to maintain their vehicle without hurting their wallet.

O’Reilly Auto Parts faces complex eCommerce challenges daily, with millions of catalog items offered by more than 5,000 stores. Ultimately, O’Reilly Auto Parts wanted to ensure day-to-day operations would be a smoother ride for the long haul.

The challenge

O’Reilly Auto Parts has over 5,000 stores and a complex catalog of 2 Million SKUs covering over 300 Million search variants. O’Reilly needed a platform to understand automotive fitment for each part with base pricing, as well as override capabilities to set store-specific pricing and inventory.

And with multiple revenue channels, O’Reilly needed an eCommerce platform capable of handling both B2C and B2B needs across all aspects of Omnichannel commerce.

Key challenges
  • Over 5,000 stores with store-specific pricing
  • Millions of catalog items with automotive search filtering
  • Performance and scalability during peak retail seasons
The Broadleaf solution

Leveraging Broadleaf’s Omnichannel solution, O’Reilly was now providing a store-specific online experience to consumers, including the capability to know customer vehicle to part fitment.

With the ability for full store pricing overrides across the entire online catalog, Broadleaf was optimized for sub-second search across 300 Million fitments and 5000 stores, providing horizontal scalability. The platform was implemented across Catalog, Content, Customer, Account, Cart & Checkout, Merchandising, and Offer management, with tight integration into O’Reilly’s legacy and in-store systems.
